It’s the early 2000s. A teenaged Kerth Gumbs chooses to bypass the stereotypical “boy” classes and opts to join a Food and Nutrition class at his highschool. Little did he know, this decision would change the entire trajectory of his life. Growing up around Anguilla’s charming food scene further allowed Kerth to develop his eclectic palette.
More than a decade on, and several adventures in kitchens throughout Europe and Asia, Kerth is now the Executive Chef at one of London’s top restaurants, Omer Mayfair. His culinary skills were recently on display for the world when he competed in one of the UK’s top culinary competitions, “Great British Menu”. Here is the story… thus far… of Chef Kerth Gumbs.
